IWB’s and Primary School Learning

This is an interesting report from BECTA about Primary Schools and the use of Interactive Whiteboards

In short……

Once teachers have experience they are able to change their teaching practices to make best use of the IWB’s.

Teachers teaching with IWB’s in grades 3 to 6 progressed about  2.5 to 5 months ahead of students in none IWB classrooms in mathematics

In Science (Grade 6)some made upto  7.5 months’ additional progress compare to none IWB classrooms

Teachers said IWB’s impacted positively on

  • preparation time
  • student assessment
  • student learning outcomes
