Visual Thesaurus

This is a cool product. Type in a word and hey presto it links to alternatives, you can then click on these and the process continues. Its very visual, drawing lines and relationships between terms, and as such iswell suited for the visual learner . It also has an audio function that pronounces the selected words. Very useful.
However, unlike its cousin Visuwords, the online visual dictionary, this product is limited use unless you have a subscription. The individual subscription is 2.95 per month for online access. This is a little steep for one individual unless they are a professional writer. They also have site liciences. You can purchase a desktop versions too.
As an educator, this is a great tool, but I question the value for money in school setting. How often do students use a thesaurus? Would you get a good return on investment?
Visuwords, is free and open source and in many ways can be used as a thesaurus.
