Its fair to say that I was disappointed when I went to the Avid website to see if they had made any changes to Avid Free DV, only to discover they have discontinued it. This product had provided an alternative for the windows users to the Buggy and somewhat unstable Windows Movie maker.

However, checking my Del.icio.us network I noticed that Richard had posted about a new free video editor.

I though this is worth checking out and to my pleasure I found that PINNACLE (now owned by Avid) has released a FREE product - video spin

Well I have downloaded this and I will install it and kick it around. But I like Pinnacle products, I struggle with MS Movie maker and I hope this provides an alternative. Time will tell and the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
