Interesting websites

These are some interesting websites that have come across my desk today:

1. Workspace Planner – This is an interesting ergonomics tool for setting up your workspace. Enter your hieght and it automagically calculates your optimal computer workstation arrangement. Useful and fun.

2. Dear Speaker – Advice for speakers and presenters

This is straight forward and sound advice for all speakers and presenters. Well worth reading and enjoying

3. More ergonomics resources – Workrave – http://www.workrave.org

This is a downlaod that allows you to set up micropauses, rests, daily limits etc using this software. The software is FOSS and is available from Sourceforge. A good tool.

4. Winnie the poo’s guide to blogging – http://www.copyblogger.com/winnie-the-pooh-blogging/

Six lessons from everyones favourite bear (Ok maybe not every on Allanah) but good sound advice never the less.

Ah you see- this is a test to see if I read the un-hyperlinked postings on your blog- and I do!

The thing that Pooh missed in his guide to blogging is the assumption that blogging is a bit like a competition where you can measure the success or failure of it by the number of readers. I admit that it does give me a thrill when someone- anyone- steps out of their RSS reader and leaves a comment but I am not sure that that is why I blog.

I blog because I want to- I like the challenge of it, the connections made by it, for the hell of it. I love getting comments but I blog because it fulfils a want in me- I am not doing to drive my ratings up- Pooh and I are both not clever enough to find out our ratings anyway!

I am sure Pooh likes to read your blog.
