This update of on the wire looks at a variety of websites that can be used across the currciulum.
1. The Story of Movies - http://www.storyofmovies.org/ this is a website sponsored by IBM and provides a broad prospective to the history of films. The site features a teachers lounge for professional development. A stunning resource for English and Media Studies

2. Poster Street - http://www.poster-street.com/templates.html This site provides a wide range of posters for free. Worth foraging through and seeing what you can find.

3. NASA Space place - http://spaceplace.nasa.gov/en/kids/ This site is useful for science, humanities and Social studies and hosts projects, games, animations, and lessons about Earth, space, and technology. Good quality from an excellent source – NASA.
4. CanvasMol - http://alteredqualia.com/canvasmol/ This is a visualisation site for chemistry. The selected molecules are displayed in 3D stick outline. A useful site for Senior chemistry.
and finally something for free. Free? Well yes. These are limited or special editions of Serif’s fully featured products. Visit http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/ and have a look, they are offering a SE version of their Desktop Publishing product. Also worth considering is my favourite DTP tool Scribus http://www.scribus.net/ which is available in all three flavours – Windows, Mac and Linix
